Back to School Ready Confetti

Yes, yes, yes I am still alive!  I'm feeling slightly guilty that I've been ignoring my little blog all Summer.  What can I say - we've been very busy.

My parents came to visit from Boston and we went to the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Multiple trips to the Park down the street.

First round of mini golf.

POTTY TRAINING!!!

Trips to the LA Zoo...

...Travel Town

...the beach

...Legoland

 ...the old Tank Park

Wow, it's exhausting just thinking about all of our fields trips.  Well, Summer is coming to a heat sweltering close (the temps in Pasadena have been in the high 90's all week) and that means all the Back to School fun is commencing!  Adorable First Day of School pics are already swarming Facebook and Instagram and my boys will join the crew next week!

They even received their first "assignment" from their new pre-school teacher.  She sent them this little poem and bag of confetti in the mail.  Some of you may have seen this before but it was new to me since this is our first year sending the boys to school.

Ready Confetti

The night before school is exciting and fun.
There are always so many things to be done.

Your clothes are ready, your backpack is too.
Your classroom is full of fun things you will do.

There are so many questions that go through your mind.
All types of thoughts of every kind.

But sometimes we all get the jitters down deep, and that makes it hard to fall fast asleep.

So I've made you some magic confetti, it's really quite cool.
It will help you be rested and ready for school.

Just sprinkle the confetti under your pillow in bed,
On the night before school starts where you lay down your head.

The confetti will help you sleep through the night,
And you will wake up in the morning fresh and bright.

I'll sprinkle the confetti under my pillow, too
And remember I just can't wait for school so I can see you!!

I mean, how cute it that????  I was so touched that I shed a little tear just thinking about my kiddos heading off to their first day of pre-school.  Before you know it they'll be heading off to college!  Someone pinch me!

  2. Fun! I think I need to add Travel Town to our list the next time we're in L.A. It's been many years, but my husband and I both grew up and there and want to take our children there sometime. We have Huntington Library at the top of the list, followed by La Brea Tart Pits, and The Getty Villa. The Peterson is fun, as is the Norton Simon, but I think we may wait to do those another time. The beach is also on our list as my children have never been. One day I hope to make the trip!
